1Gbps network switches are used on campus and at student dormitories, and the switches between the buildings are connected to each other with Fiber Optic cables. The number of vlans on the switches is 90, and these vlans run with security guidelines. Arrangements needed for efficient use of the network resources have been made. The switches we are using are PoE-type (power over ethernet). Telephones and distributing devices on the wireless network are powered by the switches.
The wireless network is accessible at all corners of the campus and the student dormitory. Multiple SSIDs are defined for the centrally managed wireless controller, and security schemes between these SSIDs are also defined. Extension telephones on the campus run on the wireless network.
- Students can access the yu-student wireless network through their YAŞARID accounts.
- Our guests on the campus can use the guest wireless network.
- The academic and administrative staff of the university can access the YU-Staff wireless network with their user name and password.
The wireless network infrastructure run with an identity verification system, which is the IEEE std 802.1x wireless network access control. Configuration instructions for accessing the“YU-Staff” wireless network are available in the links below. You can access these instructions via the links below, which will direct you to the page where you will also find the document for the specific operating system and/or device you are using.
